Small Screen is no longer smaller and can compete the silver screen! To keep the sequences real to life, the makers of COLORS Sasural Simar ka took off to Vaishnodevi, Jammu.
While on the show the relationship between the jodi has not been all that hunky-dory... in fact they are thanking their stars too for this reason! A sequence required Prem-Simar to visit VaishnoDevi in Jammu, since Prem is paralysed and Simar takes him to take blessings from Matarani for her husband's wellbeing.
This scene infact required a petite Deepika who plays Simar to push Prem (Shoaib) who is on a wheelchair all the way up to the divine shrine. Guess what... Deepika who plays Simar actually walked barefoot all the way up. " I really could not believe that I could walk up the stretch barefoot. The serenity, calmness and positivity in the surrounding gave me a lot of energy. I fell in love with the whole experience of walking bare foot and singing Jai Mata Di. Since I have come back from the shoot there is a lot of peace and confidence that I feel eternally.
"I've seen Vaisho Devi in films, but I could not hold my excitement when I was told that we would be shooting there. I could sense the presence of the almighty around us, protecting us and giving us the strength. It was truly an unforgettable experience", adds Shoaib.
Talk about making locations look authentic and getting inspired by Bollywood and Sasural Simar Ka is right up there as this is just the second time any show has shot at the divine shrine. A clear example of work hard and pray harder!
