R K Laxman ki Duniya starting November 28th at 9.30 pm on SAB TV

Anooj Kapoor and Jaspal BhattiSAB TV's EVP and Business Head, Anooj Kapoor today inaugurated Jaspal Bhatti’s National Foundation stone factory in Industrial area at Mohali near Chandigarh by unveiling the foundation stone. The factory will cater to the ever growing demand of foundation stones in this region and rest of India.

On this occasion Jaspal Bhatti said that as the Assembly elections in Punjab, UP, Gujarat and some other states were around the corner and Chief Ministers and ministers were laying foundation stones every day. Sometimes ministers forget they have already laid the foundation stone for a bridge and they redo it. Sometimes the foundation stones get lost in grass and bushes when remain unattended for years.

Anooj Kapoor, EVP and Business Head, SAB TV said that, “We decided to associate with Jaspal Bhatti’s Nonsense club’s activity as they are doing this political satire as a tribute to RK Laxman.Also, Jaspal Bhatti has a light hearted take on a lot of social themes and so does SAB TV.

Jaspal Bhatti who also started off as a cartoonist and became an ace satirist of TV admitted that his greatest inspiration has always been RK Laxman. Bhatti said Laxman had drawn many cartoons on foundation stones and when he noticed the Chief Ministers splashing on foundation stone laying ceremonies he came up with idea of this novel money spinning industry.

During the event Bhatti and his team also performed on a parody song Aap ne yaad dilaya to mujeh yaad aya, key eh neev pathar mere hathon ne hi tha lagaya. Brijesh  Ahuja sang the song and students of Mad Arts Film School in the attire of construction workers danced around the foundation stone.

R. K. Laxman is a show based on the works of noted cartoonist R.K. Laxman, the creator of the daily comic strip You Said It. The episodes and incidents would involve happenings in the life of The Common Man and represents his hopes, aspirations, troubles, and weaknesses in day-to-day life in a light hearted manner. The series aims at depicting our happiness and sorrows and our indifference towards things going around us.
