A story close to Cinderella, but not just a fairy tale! While a mother pleas for a given up child to return from the hands of the accepted mother, the child has a story to tell! For the very first time, we had two mothers, Rekha and Sushila fighting in the court of Dr. Kiran Bedi on Aap Ki Kachehri Season 3 for their 9 year old owned and adopted child Sachin respectively. The case was taken into the court to bring to notice the pain of two mothers, Rekha who had decided to give away her son within a month of his birth claimed her right on him after 9 years while Sushila who adopted Sachin has mothered him for 9 years and was not ready to return her child to the real mother.

Abiding by the legal contract of the Hindu Adoption Act, the adoption of a child is legal if the real father and the adopted father of the child have signed a consent letter at the time of adoption. Keeping in mind, the law of Adoption and the love of both the mothers, Dr. Bedi gave her verdict leaving both the families in a win-win situation. While giving the right of possession to Sushila, she reiterated Rekha’s right to meet her child often and as per an agreed period of time with the consent of Sushila and her family.
